Federal Tax Credits
Energy Star - Between now and December 31, 2011 you can take advantage of generous tax credits for 10% of the cost of your new high efficiency system, up to $500.
Local Power Companies
BEC - Bandera Electric Coop is currently offering a Heat Pump Rebate Program. They are offering $200 for every 15 SEER or greater central heat pump that is installed for BEC member in existing homes. The rebate is good for qualifying equipment installed through December 31, 2011.
CPS Energy - 2011 Rebates are available for CPS Energy residential customers to install central air conditioning and heat pump systems with a 15 SEER or higher rating. Rebates start at $110 per ton installed. Higher SEER units can earn as much as $225 per ton installed. Rebates for Air Flow Performance Testing are also available.
GVEC - Take advantage of various Home Improvement rebates being offered when you upgrade to a 16 SEER or higher air conditioning system. Rebates also available for duct replacement.
NBU - New Braunfels Utilities is currently offering a rebate to it's customers who purchase and install a split system air conditioning unit and/or heat pump that has a minimum rating of 16 SEER or a package air conditioning system and/or heat pump with a minimum rating of 15 SEER. The amount of rebate available is from $200 to $500, depending on SEER ratings and the addition of a heat pump.
PEC - Pedernales Electric Coop currently has rebates available from $300 to $500 for 15 SEER and above rated units installed before December 31, 2011.
